2011-2012
Elena is a Community Fellow for Historic Bethlehem Partnership, a local Smithsonian-affiliated nonprofit, working to preserve and present Bethlehem's three centuries of history to the community and its visitors. Elena will be working to improve HBP's communications and create new outreach programs, including business sponsorship and membership outreach models. In addition to research and analysis on the role of cultural nonprofits in healthy communities and economies, she will help HBP reach out to local business leaders and underserved member bases in an effort to concretely link Bethlehem's cultural capital to its economic success. Her responsibilities include cultivating relationships in the community, developing long-term strategies for development in these areas, and writing direct communication materials to members, sponsors, and visitors. Elena is a M.A. candidate in Political Science.
