Since the program’s inception in 2001, 172 skilled graduate students have served nearly 80 public and nonprofit organizations in the Lehigh Valley through the Community Fellows Program.

City of Allentown, Planning and Zoning Bureau
2020-2021
As a Community Fellow, Lorena filled the role of Project Manager with the City of Allentown’s Department of Planning and Zoning. She was responsible for the development and implementation of resident-driven “Neighborhood Scale Projects,” as well as the resident training and empowerment necessary to make those projects successful. To do this, Lorena worked closely with community leaders, non-profit organizations, and local institutions.

Matt was a Community Fellow in the City of Allentown’s Bureau of Planning and Zoning. There, he worked on a variety of projects, including grant writing and plan review, and collecting information for the annual Capital Improvements Plan. He worked with city staff on a bike share program in Allentown, and created maps for various projects.
